Anticipation EDM 2014: Which EDM Album will be OUT on 2014?

What’s the new year going to bring? Here’s our list of the most anticipated dance releases of 2014:

The Dutch DJ/producer stayed very busy in 2013 releasing a documentary, EP and landing another #9 spot on DJ Mag’s top 100 list. With his forthcoming Island Def Jam debut, a slew of tour dates and a hit in the making with Spree Wilson in “The Spark,” 2014 is shaping up to be Afrojack’s biggest year yet.

 Steve Aoki

The Dim Mak boss spent 2013, as always, touring like a cake-splattered madman. From closing out TomorrowLand 2013 in Belgium to dates with Waka Flaka, Borgore, and Pharrell Williams, Aoki might be the busiest man in dance music. We look forward to hear what has come from tour bus studio sessions, and hope 2014 includes a much deserved nap.

 Dillon Francis

What didn’t Dillon Francis aka DJ Hanzel do in 2013? He was MTV Clubland’s Artist to Watch, released his EP, Without You, along with a number of collaborations and remixes, and even babysat a fan. But the one thing that will set 2014 apart for Dillon Francis will be his forthcoming debut album. After a long career of EP’s, singles, and remixes, fans will be treated to Dillon’s full-length album this year.

Skrillex spent the past 12 months on a nonstop marathon of touring and production. But it was the projects and collaborations outside of his solo career that were the most noteworthy. From the “Spring Breakers” score to the revival of his Dog Blood and launch of a new production duo with Mad Decent label boss Diplo titled Jack U. With his multiple projects and tour dates already announced, we eagerly await what Skrillex has on deck this year.

Producing and opening for Lady Gaga, working with Ellie Goulding, and releasing a slew of singles and remixes in one year are huge accomplishments. But doing all that before your 20th birthday is what sets Madeon apart from his peers. Coming off a huge year, the prodigy French producer is due for a full length that will cement his reputation as one to watch.

The Australian twins were perhaps the big winners of 2013. From performing at almost every festival main stage, being the face of Covergirl, and opening the VMA red carpet, Mim and Liv were everywhere. With singles and remixes for Beyoncé, Omarion, Beverly Knight and R3hab the time seems ripe for them to unleash their own album.

 Steve Angello

He said goodbye to Swedish House Mafia last year and although that was a sad day for many fans, the end of SHM has created a new opportunity for Steve Angello to showcase his talents as an artist and label boss. Steve hosted the second annual “SIZE in the Park” concert in NYC and spent copious amount of studio time working on his forthcoming Wild Youth album.

Arguably the current king of dance music, Avicii wowed fans with his debut album TRUE, featuring the mega hit “Wake Me Up.” Many of the album’s tracks were premiered on the main stage of Ultra Music festival, which caused a stir among fans who were thrown off by the producer’s new direction and sound. They quickly embraced it and made “Wake Me Up” the U.K.’s fastest selling single of 2013. He ended 2013 with a huge momentum, a #3 spot on the DJ Mag list, and an upcoming tour promoting TRUE.
